COVID MYTHS You Must Never Believe

COVID MYTHS You Must Never Believe

1. COVID MEANS DEATH

a.The moment you wake up in the morning until you sleep at night, you’re constantly hearing terrible news on TV channels and magazines about deaths happening because of coronavirus.

b.While it is true that people are dying because of Corona Virus, it doesn’t mean that every single person who gets COVID is going to die.

i. In fact, a vast majority of people, 80-85% people only get mild disease and recover without any treatment.

ii. Another 10 to 15% get moderate disease and never have to be admitted to the hospital and they also recover with simple treatment with steroids.

iii. Less than 5% people need to get admitted in the hospital and most of these people recover also.

iv. Yes, probably there is 1- 2% people who get critically ill and may die. But if you look at it, a vast majority of people almost 98% recover from COVID. So, do not get paralyzed with fear when you are tested positive for COVID.

v. Take common sense precautions and take advice from a good doctor.

2. REMDESIVIR SAVES YOUR LIFE

a. Even though initially everyone got excited about Remdesivir the truth is, it doesn’t make much impact in saving lives, as per latest research. If at all, it may be a little helpful in the first few days when you get COVID infection by reducing the viral replication but otherwise it is not a LIVE SAVING drug.

b. So, don’t sell your home or spend a fortune to buy Remdesivir in black market. Keep that money and use it for something else that’s useful.

c. The only medication that is shown to improve mortality is steroids.

3. PLASMA DONATION HELPS IN TREATING A COVID PATIENT

a. Convalescent plasma got so much hype initially but it is proven not to be that helpful. Again, this is not a lifesaving treatment.

b. The idea behind convalescent plasma transfusion is that a person who recovered from COVID infection may contain antibodies in his plasma that could fight coronavirus. Theoretically it makes sense and that is the reason people started using this treatment but the results are disappointing.

c. So, do not waste your time, energy, and money to buy plasma. Next time if you really want to donate blood or plasma that is fine but that is not necessarily going to save any lives from COVID. Research doesn’t back use of convalescent treatment.

4. DOXYCYCLINE AND IVERMECTIN CURES COVID

a. Doxycycline, Ivermectin, Azithromycin, and Hydroxychloroquine – None of these medications are research proven and are not to be used for COVID treatment.

b. Especially don’t use all these medications at once because that increases the risk of having side effects.

c. Each of these medications when used alone have low risk for getting side-effects though.

d. If you were prescribed one of these medications by your doctor and if you want to finish the course, that is okay. It shouldn’t cause you much harm.

5. COVID VACCINATION IS HARMFUL

a. If you have any doubt about COVID vaccine, it is time that you leave all your doubts behind and take the vaccine. There is enough research done about COVID vaccines and we know for sure that the side effect profile is low and it is rare to have any kind of adverse reaction.

b. The vaccine protects you from COVID. After 14 days from the first dose of the vaccine (Covaxin and Covishield) you typically get around 70% of protection. And after 14 days from the second dose of the vaccine you get 80 to 90% of protection.

6. STEAM INHALATION MAKES CORONAVIRUS GO INTO OUR LUNGS

It seems, there is lot of discussion out there that steam inhalation could make the virus go into your lung and cause more infection and damage. That’s a myth. There is no evidence that steam inhalation is dangerous or causes COVID. If you feel like using steam inhalation, feel free to do so.

7. BUTTERMILK CAN CURE COVID

While buttermilk and yogurt are good for your health and may boost your immunity, there is no evidence that they can cure COVID. The same is true for many of the supplements that are being recommended like vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc etc. None of these supplements can cure COVID. They could only help boost your immunity to some extent. But, the most important thing is to keep your stress levels low and sleep well at night; and there is no greater booster of immunity than that.
Seven Golden Rules to Find True Happiness in Life!

Seven Golden Rules to Find True Happiness in Life!

Happiness, happiness, happinesssmile! Everyone in this world is looking for happiness and yet very few find true happiness in their lives. Why is that? Isn’t it an enigma? So, what is happiness? Let’s define this first because without finding what happiness actually is, we will never find it.

Happiness is a state of mind where you feel no fear, insecurity, worry, or any other negative feelings. Happiness is the lack of pain and suffering. It’s a state of mind where you feel totally secure, peaceful, and excited.

Today is the world happiness day. So, what can you do today to make yourself happy? Or even more importantly what can you learn today that can keep you happy for the rest of the year or even the rest of your life? So many people are unhappy in the world. It is because they do not know these Simple Rules of Happiness. No one ever taught them and so they’re not even aware that there are rules for happiness. Here are they:

  1. True happiness is manufactured Within: Yes, that is true though it is a little shocking for some of you to hear that. So, let me explain a little bit. Even though it appears that happiness comes from outside, that’s just an illusion. It’s created from within. If happiness is created from somewhere outside, then everyone should be happy as long as few basic needs are fulfilled. But that’s not the case, right?
There are two kinds of happiness: 1. Conditional happiness, which is a temporary happiness. 2. Unconditional happiness, which is a lasting happiness.
Most people experience only temporary happiness that is derived from achieving a goal, making money, entering a new relationship, or gaining something else that excites them momentarily. It’s called conditional happiness. But soon, boredom creeps in or some unexpected problem drags them down to the rags of misery. For most people their happiness fluctuates depending on the situation. It is a roller coaster ride with periods of excitement followed by periods of deep melancholy.
As long as we depend on external conditions to make us happy, we are bound to become unhappy sooner or later because external situations are ever fluctuating. So, it’s much smarter to not depend on our circumstances for our happiness. It’s far better to practice unconditional happiness, which is more lasting.
Now, you may ask me how. The truth of the matter is that you don’t have to look far for finding that TRUE and UNCONDITIONAL HAPPINESS in life. People never find it because they look in the wrong places, that is somewhere outside them. But true happiness lies within. You are born with it. We all are born happy. If you look at little kids, this fact is clearly evident. They are naturally happy, even though they don’t meditate, they don’t attend any happiness lectures, practice a religion, or do something specific to become happy. However, as we grow into adults, our happiness gets conditioned to various things. Initially, as a kid it’s a toy, then it’s a bike, then maybe a car, a home, a career or something else. Soon, we are deeply ingrained in Conditional happiness. And every time our external circumstances change, or what we like is taken away from us, we become deeply unhappy. Life has a way to snatch away things from us, no matter how to hard you try to keep those things or how smart and intelligent you are. So, I urge you to start finding that inner happiness today. Learn to be happy regardless of conditions. When that happens, you will be truly free and truly peaceful and joyful in life.
  2. Balance is the other name for happiness: Balance and harmony are essential for true and lasting happiness. It is just not sufficient to tell yourself that I am happy from within and go do things out of whack and expect to be happy forever. Knowing that true happiness arises from within is a good start. Just by knowing this, you’re far ahead of the game than millions of people. But to sustain that happiness, you must learn how to lead a balanced life. Make sure all the roles in your life are balanced, whoever you are. For example, allot appropriate amount of time and energy for all the necessary things in life. These days, people are totally focused on making money, ignoring other areas of life and soon they find their health, relationships, or other areas in life affected badly. Avoid that pitfall because money is not everything. Career is not everything. Balance all these areas in life carefully. Now you may ask me how. Here is how you do it.
  3. Make inner wisdom your best friend: The way to a balanced life is to be guided by your inner wisdom. No one else can tell you how to balance your life, not me, not your parents, not your children, not your friends, not any book. True balance can only be found under the guidance of your own inner wisdom. It doesn’t matter how smart and intelligent you are, if you’re not in touch with your inner wisdom, you are certain to lose balance in life and soon things start falling apart. Balance is not a function of intellect because, you see all the time highly intellectual people totally stressed and out of balance in their lives. Avoid that pitfall. Now you may ask, how do you tap into your inner wisdom.
  4. Practice calmness and remove restlessness from your life: It is by practicing calmness that you find wisdom. When your mind is restless and thoughts are running wild, you’re confused, you lack clarity, make poor decisions, and thus reap bad results in life. By calming your thoughts, your mind becomes tranquil. In that tranquility you will see things with clarity and find the pearls of wisdom waiting for you, shedding light on your path, showing the way to a balanced life. Harmony reigns and happiness follows.
  5. Expect and be ready to roll with the challenges in life: As much as you want to live a happy and balanced life, there are always challenges waiting to knock you off the balance. That is to be expected. And you better expect it because that way you can be prepared to face them. If you expect that everything is going to be perfect all the time, when challenges hit you, you will be caught off guard. When you face challenges, instead of complaining or cursing, roll forward with them and you will see wonders happening in life. Let go of your judgments about the difficult situations in life and see them as opportunities to grow and learn. By adjusting your attitude this way, you will get over the difficulties in life much faster than if you cling to negative thoughts about them.
  6. Learn to take both ups and downs equally: Most people find it not so difficult to be happy when things are going fine in life. But when they see a downturn, they freak out. That’s normal and you’re not alone if you do that. Most of us become very unhappy when things are not going our way, because we live in the illusion that everything is going to be good all the time. You need to let go of that illusion. Well, if you have even a little experience with life, by now you know that it is not true. Good and bad periods are interspersed. Now let me tell you a secret. All downturns are inevitably followed by an upturn. All you got to do is to wait for the downturn to be over and not do anything stupid during that time. That’s it. And the more patient and calm you are during the difficult times in your life, the faster they resolve. The more restless and impatient you get, the more obstacles you are going to create for yourself. Remember this secret.
  7. Be willing to fail and falter: To err is human. We are imperfect. So, we make mistakes. We falter. We fail. That is totally okay. Don’t beat yourself up when you make a mistake. See that as a learning experience. In fact, I don’t want to call it even a failure because that’s a term that we coined and use it against ourselves. Why can’t failure be a good thing, a positive force, a wonderful way to grow? Think about it. If you develop this attitude, it really doesn’t matter anymore failure or success because you’re always growing and are getting better. That is what it matters ultimately isn’t it?

Follow these seven golden rules to find and sustain happiness in your life. Refer to them every day. This is not simply meant to be read and forgotten but to be practiced and made a part of your life.

PRIORITIZE PEACE OF MIND! SIMPLE & EASY

PRIORITIZE PEACE OF MIND! SIMPLE & EASY

It Doesn’t Take Much Time to Regain Your Peace of Mind!

Finally, one day, I stopped myself and asked, “What’s going on? Why don’t I feel happy? Why don’t I feel good that I am busy with the work I wanted to do? Is that not what I wanted? Why am I feeling so restless?” As I reflected upon this, I realized that I was ignoring my peace of mind and was doing everything else at its expense. I had de-prioritized my peace of mind. I realized my mistake. Immediately, I changed my priorities. I started doing yoga and meditation again, and immediately my energy came back. I felt vibrant, healthy, and, most importantly, peaceful. Things started flowing well in life again. My appetite was back, and I started eating well. I got back to the rhythm of being myself as soon as I prioritized peace of mind.

Do you know how long it took for me to get back into the groove? Just one day. Yes, all it took was one day! The moment I prioritized peace of mind and took actions to promote it, I started feeling better. That’s a huge point! All you need to do to feel well and de-stress is to prioritize your peace of mind and take the necessary actions to make it happen. By choosing to read this, you have already taken a step toward achieving peace of mind. Here are the 7 things you can do to keep your mind peaceful:

1. For the next week, no matter what happens, be determined to remain peaceful.
2. When a negative news attracts your attention, stop for a moment and ask yourself if it is worth losing your peace of mind for this.
3. If a family member, friend, or colleague makes a comment you don’t like, ask yourself whether that’s worth arguing and getting into a fight.
4. When protesters rally against our president, ask yourself if that’s going to help do good for anyone or if it is a selfish act.
5. Allot yourself not more than 15 minutes a day for you to be up-to-date on the news. That’s ample time to learn the major news events of the day without getting dragged into instigating details.
6. If possible, for the next three weekends, go away somewhere you won’t be bothered by anyone and where you can relax and regain your peace of mind.
7. Make sure you prioritize your peace of mind. Keep your quiet time appointment as if you would keep the appointment with the most important person of your dreams.

OVERWHELMED? Follow these tips to sleep better at night!

OVERWHELMED? Follow these tips to sleep better at night!

Empty Your Mind Before You Go to Sleep:

  1. The news events of the day overstimulate your brain, haunt you through the night, and steal your peaceful sleep.
  2. Stop watching or reading news 2 to 3 hours before going to bed. This will help your mind relax.
  3. When you wake up in the morning, you can catch up with the news if you want to.

Here is a relaxation exercise that helps you fall asleep peacefully:

  1. Lie down or sit back in an easy chair, and completely relax both your mind and body. Just let go of everything—every thought, idea, limitation, pain, every past event or future worry, every feeling, just about everything that could possibly arise in your mind—and just relax completely and ease into your body and mind.
  2. Breathe deeply and release your breath slowly. Again, breathe deeply and release slowly. Do it a few times, possibly for the next 2 to 3 minutes. You will feel your body and mind relaxing. Don’t think about it, though. Just ease into your breathing.
  3. Let your breathing take a natural rhythm and follow it. Your breathing will slow down and become very enjoyable and relaxing. Ease into it. Let it be. Let nothing bother you at this time. You are alone. You are free. You are enjoying yourself.
  4. As you relax and ease into this state, you will feel all the restlessness in your body and mind completely dissolve. If you still feel a bit of restlessness, continue to ease into your breathing. Just let it be. If you want to, observe your breathing as it naturally happens.
  5. Doing this exercise for 5 to 10 minutes is usually sufficient to completely relax you, but if you feel like you need to do it longer, that’s fine, too. But within the first 5 minutes, you may notice yourself falling into a sleeplike state where you are deeply relaxed.
  6. Rest there as long as you feel like. If you decide not to wake up and just go to sleep, continue to ease into your body and be relaxed.
  7. You will sure fall asleep with this exercise if done right!
